BOA may get 15 to 20 billion with a 120 billion dollar reserve in a deal, which may be released in detail to the public as early as January 16, 2009. It is expected on this day that Bank of America will announce losses for the fourth quarter, much greater then expected.
Bank of America informed regulators in December that it might abandon the takeover because of Merrill's worse-than-expected results.
